Construction Project Engineer
We offer a career opportunity for a Construction Inspector in our Connecticut division. You will be responsible for inspecting infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, water mains, and sewers, and managing client relationships. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that promote the growth of our construction group.
This role requires some experience in leading inspections of significant construction tasks independently. It offers a path toward managing multiple projects and advancing to a project manager role.
Location
This position involves a hybrid schedule—working from home, the office, and at client sites.
The Impact You Will Have
* Oversee key tasks on construction projects, ensuring safety and compliance
* Perform inspections, document findings, and communicate observations
* Prepare reports and project documentation, setting examples for supporting staff
* Report on work progress, technical issues, and deficiencies
* Serve as the main contact at the field level and support project documentation
* Conduct documentation audits, log and respond to submittals and RFIs, and perform materials testing
* Write meeting minutes and participate in project meetings and client events
* Support client relationships and respond to Requests for Proposals
What You Will Need
* Bachelor’s in Civil or Construction Engineering
* 6+ years of experience, preferably with DOT
* Experience in field projects is desired
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational skills and efficiency within budgets and schedules
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Valid U.S. driver’s license for at least one year and a safe driving record
