We are currently seeking a B5 Occupational Therapist with experience in home adaptations, either prior to training or post‑qualification, and with an interest in working with children and young people with complex needs. The post is newly created and will primarily focus on Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) work, with the aim to develop wider competencies after 6 months within a special school.
The service has a strong commitment to training and development with robust supervision and shadowing opportunities across the service.

Main Duties
* Provide specialist assessments to inform housing adaptations for children and young people up to 18 years.
* Review specialist home equipment prescribed as part of a Disabled Facilities Grant.
* Collaborate closely with the complex needs integrated team, including Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, School Nursing and Integrated Therapy Assistants, as well as key partner agencies.
* Work in a special school within 6 months to develop competencies in postural management and statutory provision.
Job Responsibilities
* Actively drive to perform duties where required; must hold a full UK driving licence or an equivalent from an EU country.
* Adapt to new ways of working, embracing initiative, resilience, and a solution‑focused approach.
* Develop equipment knowledge, including manual handling and postural management.
* Support the delivery of integrated care across the integrated therapy service.
Person Specification
Experience
* Assessment and planning occupational therapy treatment for a variety of conditions across a broad range of placements.
* Knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants.
Knowledge
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Knowledge of complex neurological problems.
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and State Registration with HCPC.

Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 per year pro rata.
