Below Ground Triage Engineer
We offer a salary starting from £40,168 per annum dependant on experience.
Location
This role will initially be based in Bradford and will move to Leeds Valley Park in Summer 2026, with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 office days per week.
Employment Type
Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 07:00‑19:00, with a mix of early (07:00‑15:00 or 08:00‑16:00) and late (11:00‑19:00) starts.

Roles & Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage work requiring triage via YW360 and SAP S4, processing based on business rules.
* Ensure information meets safety & quality requirements and is accurately prioritised before routing.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the business including Customer Field Services, planning & scheduling, call agents and control.
* Apply knowledge of the waste water network operations, risks, regulatory drivers and health & safety standards.
* Identify and influence stakeholders to make appropriate decisions and challenge processes.
* Drive health & safety, risk management, control of work and ensure compliance with Yorkshire Water Safety Policy.
* Prioritise work across proactive maintenance and reactive workbasket, considering operational risk and resource impact.
* Review maintenance jobs against risk and capacity to use resources effectively.
* Apply jeopardy management to the maintenance workbasket and represent the triage team in company escalations.
* Upskill colleagues through diagnostic questioning and coaching both in the field and in the CX pod arrangement.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong desire to improve processes at Yorkshire Water.
* Excellent understanding of operational health & safety and management procedures.
* Knowledge of waste network operations (advantageous).
* Understanding of operational risk and regulatory responsibilities.
* Experience with network fault diagnostics and repair methods.
* Team player with safe behaviours, self‑development and compliance to rules.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
* Experience using SAP to interrogate and process jobs.
* Customer‑focused with excellent service skills and ability to influence.
* Cooperative, internal and external teamwork to support wider objectives.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
* Self‑motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience managing busy workloads and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to support wider department when required.
* Experience in operational teams within Yorkshire Water or utilities sector is advantageous.
