Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional self employed Part-time Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice on Saturday mornings 9am-1pm. Salary is pecentage based.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality oral health care, supporting patient comfort, and maintaining excellent dental hygiene standards. This position offers flexibility for those looking to balance work with other commitments while contributing to a friendly and patient-focused environment.
Duties
* Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
* Assist in the diagnosis of oral health issues through the use of medical imaging and other diagnostic tools.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
* Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments performed and observations made during appointments.
* Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring all instruments are sterilised and ready for use.
* Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as making sure recalls are up to date.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Skills
* Proficiency in using SOE Exact software is advantageous.
* Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry is desirable. Such as intraoral scanning.
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly oral anatomy, to accurately assess patient conditions.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
* Organised with attention to detail to ensure precise record keeping and adherence to protocols.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
