Overview
Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Croydon, South London.
The vital Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of £45,749 (inclusive of shift allowance and London weighting allowance) + Bonus + overtime + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
 * Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for: Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
 * Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work.
 * Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
 * Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
 * Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site.
 * Assist with loading and unloading operations of mobile plant and machinery.
 * This position is working 40 hours per week on a 6-week rolling shift rota between days and nights.
Qualifications and requirements
 * A formal qualification in an engineering discipline would be ideal but not a necessity.
 * A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous.
 * Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal (forklift, counterbalance, etc).
 * The role would suit someone who has an understanding of process/factory machinery and the ability to use sensory skills to monitor machinery.
 * Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
 * A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry.
 * Willing to work 12 hour shifts.
