This role supports the objectives of the West of Scotland Laundry (WoSL) to provide a cost-effective and efficient, quality linen service to the WoSL Consortium. The role ensures all required items are processed and delivered on time and to the highest quality standards, while prioritising health, safety and wellbeing of all staff.
Overview
The role is based in the West of Scotland Laundry (PSSD). The post involves working as part of a team to ensure laundry operations meet required standards and service delivery expectations.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Knowledge of laundry services and related procedures
* On-the-job training and induction (typically 4–6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across a range of duties
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
* Infection control on the laundry where applicable
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) Standards
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to audit
* Ability to work with others as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
It would be great if you also have
* SVQ2 in Laundry Operations or laundry workbook training
* Experience of working in a laundry environment or similar
* Experience using laundry equipment (e.g. ironers, folders)

Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in PSSD within West of Scotland Laundry. The working pattern for this role is:
* Tuesday to Wednesday – 15:15–21:00
* Thursday – 15:15–20:35
* Friday – 14:00–19:45
* Sunday – 22:45–07:00/30
