Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in ensuring our production as well as development environments run without interruption and with the necessary performance and security to support the ever-growing architecture. Responsible for the development and creation of new database functionality, data integration, and performance tuning of databases and queries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with business stakeholders on defining and solving business problems using data. Solutions will take any form or shape, from descriptive dashboards to predictive logic.
* Consult the business on defining, monitoring and investigating KPIs and performance
* Source the necessary data for building dashboards and performance analysis (data pipes building)
* Visualise and explore performance and KPIs using Tableau or similar data visualisation tools.
* Build and own a portfolio of analytical assets (e.g. dashboards, anomaly detection systems, marketing automation logic, predictive models, data pipes)
* Work on data warehouse maintenance, development and scaling : rethinking and optimising the ETL logic, refining raw data and building suitable data architecture for analytics and reporting, building new data pipes and scaling old ones
* Perform deep dive analysis and come up with insights on specific problems. Manage the data correlation as well as paterns in the data models that lead to value-added insights by creating algorithms.
* Work on the development and maintenance of existing data products and tools: marketing segmentation, product recommendations engine, competitive intelligence tools and other
* Perform Ad-Hoc analytical tasks: investigating a particular business / tech issue using data, generate quick summary statistics and analysis in order to support decision making, etc.
Required skills and abilities:
* 3 - 5 years of experience
* Database experience with either PostGreSQL or MySQL
* Experience with Google Compute Cloud and BigQuery
* Knowledge of and experience with Python
* Familiarity with more sophisticated visualization softwares like Tableau or similar
* Experience with Google Spreadsheets and their scripting
* Excellent spoken and written English - C1
Nice to have
* A degree in Business / Finance / Economics / Maths, etc.
* Experience in Agile environment and work with project tracking software
* Experience with TensorFlow
* Experience with tools like DataIku
* Interest in AI and Statistics and their application within E-commerce
* Basic statistical and machine learning concepts: regressions, clustering, tree based models
