Responsible to Bakehouse Production Manager
This role requires the preparation of ingredients, supports production of various bakery items, decorating and finishing and packaging & labelling of bakery products and & helps prepare products ready to dispatch to our stores.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Weighing ingredients, preparing mixes, fillings, icing, toppings
2. Lining trays and preparing tins
3. Dough scaling and shaping
4. Assisting bakers during production
5. Icing cakes, decorating traybakes, chocolate finishing
6. Filling pastries
7. Cutting, portioning and packing bakery items
8. Ensure correct labelling of products (ingredients, allergens, dates)
9. Quality checking finished items
10. Prepares products ready for dispatch, order picking for each location
11. Organising dispatch and ensuring timely distribution
12. Stock rotation and basic stock handling
Essential
13. Experience in a food production or kitchen environment
14. Good attention to detail, especially with labelling and allergens
15. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active role
16. Strong organisational and time management skills
17. Ability to follow instructions and processes accurately
18. Reliable, punctual, and fulfil required working hours
19. Good teamwork and communication skills
Desirable
20. Previous bakery or food manufacturing experience
21. Basic food hygiene knowledge ( Level 2 Food Safety)
22. Experience with packing, labelling, or dispatch processes
23. Confidence with portioning and finishing baked goods
24. Understanding of stock rotation (FIFO)
25. Interest in baking or food production
