We are currently looking for a Training Tutor - Childcare.
The post holder will be required to ensure that learners undertaking training are given appropriate support and guidance in order to achieve their full potential. This will involve providing effective delivery of the programme that conforms to contractual requirements, ensuring high quality of learning, and promoting the continued progression of learners into employment and/or further/higher education.
The main duties of the post include:
1. Undertake assessments with learners to identify their particular needs in relation to participation, progression and further education and/or employment opportunities.
2. Undertake programmes of induction, carry out initial assessment and investigation to determine learner needs and agree an Individual Learning Plan.
3. Set objectives to meet individual needs and deliver the expected learning outcomes within the allocated timescale of the programme.
4. Design and deliver appropriate learning materials and resources to support established accreditation delivered at Adult Community Learning.
5. Provide necessary documents for management including lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and accreditation completed in the required timeframe.
6. Undertake teaching sessions with learners in line with the programme.
7. Ensure that programmes of learning are delivered at the appropriate levels for learners, including delivering differential learning within sessions.
8. Monitor and review learner progress at regular intervals as per agreed policy and against agreed targets.
9. Assess and verify competencies of learners as appropriate.
10. Ensure targets set by Adult Community Learning are met.
11. Maintain ongoing communication with all teams for effective exchange of information and a pro-active approach to the learner journey.
12. Attend meetings, contribute to reviews, and represent the section at required meetings/groups.
13. Organise and deliver courses as required.
14. Arrange group guidance and/or 1:2:1 sessions with the Business and Guidance Support Officer, responding to the needs of learners' welfare and training.
15. Establish an agreed learning plan for every learner in accordance with their aims.
16. Refer learners where appropriate to alternative sources of training/learning/counselling guidance provision.
17. Maintain, update and complete appropriate documentation including learning plans, learner assessment, placement records, and relevant examination bodies' documentation.
18. Liaise and maintain necessary records and documentation.
19. Contribute fully to monitoring visits and inspections undertaken by internal or external agencies.
20. Provide reports/updates for Team Leaders or Management as appropriate.
21. Provide data in a timely and effective manner to update and maintain Management Information Systems for the sector/programme.
22. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in Adult Community Learning.
23. Regularly evaluate ongoing work.
24. Be involved in the Staff Development Review process.
25. Set and review targets for personal development.
You will have experience in:
* Experience in the delivery of post 16 provision.
* Experience of working with post 16 learners.
Be in possession of relevant subject area qualification:
* A minimum level 3 teaching qualification in accordance with sector standards.
