We are a registered charitable company, owning five adjoining properties, in common grounds, in Southsea, Portsmouth.
The Trust's houses comprise 38 self-contained flats, providing mainly 1-bedroom accommodation. The flats are let as independent living tenancies, with a small number of assisted-living tenants receiving support from the staff with cleaning and catering.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager, to work Part-Time, Monday - Friday between 20-25 hours per week. Must be able to work Thursday and Friday to cover Trust Manager (hours can be discussed to suit).
Responsibilities
* Complete handovers
* Staff Holiday & Wages checks
* Welfare Checks as required
* Check safety, with assistance from other staff, on the premises (meter reads, fire alarms)
* Manage and check any work happening on the premises
* Assist staff when needed (making lunches, drinks etc.)
* Responding to any calls or emails
* Completing any paperwork
* Make sure the premises is safe for tenants
* Check on any tenants that need assistance (injured tenants) and contact ambulance and next of kin
* Interact with tenants
* Environmental Health
* Holding meetings with potential tenants
* Any other duties reasonably required
* Shop for daily needs i.e., fresh produce twice a week
* Conduct stock rotation
* Supervise petty cash and online supermarket deliveries
GENERIC/COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage and assist staff and tenants
* Ensure the premises, staff and tenants are all safe
* Sorting any administration work such as making calls, replying to emails, going to meetings etc.
* Assist in the management of daily operations within the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Supervise and support staff in delivering quality care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
* Oversee medication administration and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care strategies for residents, particularly those with dementia or Alzheimer's.
* Conduct regular assessments of resident health and wellbeing, making necessary adjustments to care plans as required.
* Foster a positive environment that promotes resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
* Provide training and support to new staff members, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities within the team.
* Handle any issues or concerns raised by residents or their families promptly and professionally.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
