Metro Rod works with clients such as Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Mitie, Clarion, Axa, Wetherspoons, and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial, and Leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services across the UK. We have been unblocking drains for over thirty years, earning a reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. Major companies and high street names trust us for their drain maintenance needs.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands are Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, these brands offer a comprehensive service for water and waste management.

We are seeking an experienced Office Administrator to join our busy office in Exeter. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced office environment and a proactive approach. You will liaise daily with internal and external customers and support various administrative duties in a small but busy team.

What does it entail?

This role involves supporting the scheduling of jobs for our engineers, updating customers throughout the process, and assisting with daily office administration. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Excel and office equipment are essential. Previous experience as an Office Administrator, Assistant, Secretary, or Scheduler is highly desirable.

Ultimately, the successful Admin Assistant will ensure the efficient and smooth operation of our office.

What do we look for?

* Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant, Personal Assistant, Office Administrator, or similar
* Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
* Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
* Excellent time management and prioritization abilities
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
* Availability to cover some on-call work, including manning the phone between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays and sporadically on weekends
