Sales and Marketing Director (Energy Storage)Location: This hybrid role offers the flexibility of 2 days working from home and 3 days at our UK Head Office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money!Last year we diversified into electric vehicle chargers and introduced our flagship product – the All In One system. On top of all this, GivEnergy Europe was formed at the end of 2022, GivEnergy Australia was created in the summer of 2023, and we’ve just launched in South Africa this year with exciting further plans for global expansion in the works!What You’ll Be Doing:Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the UK, primarily you’ll be securing high-level new business opportunities and nurturing existing key product partner relationships. You’ll thrive on confidently navigating rapidly changing market conditions, industry disruptions, and competitive pressures while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.Key responsibilities include:• Leading the Sales and Marketing Teams: Providing leadership, guidance, and support including setting clear goals, establishing performance metrics, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.• Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive threats, and using insights to inform strategic decision-making.• Brand Management: Overseeing the development and implementation of brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity across all marketing channels to ensure consistency and alignment with the company's brand image and values.• Sales Pipeline Management: Managing the sales pipeline from lead generation to conversion, including prospecting, qualifying leads, nurturing relationships, and closing deals, to achieve sales targets and revenue objectives.• Product and Pricing Strategy: Collaborating with the product development team to define product roadmaps, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans for new and existing products or services, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market demand.• Customer Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.• Sales Forecasting and Budget Management: Forecasting sales projections, setting sales targets, and managing the sales budget to optimise resource allocation and achieve revenue and profitability targets.• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring sales and marketing performance metrics, analysing key performance indicators (KPIs), and preparing regular reports and presentations to senior management to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments, such as product development, operations, finance, and service delivery to align sales and marketing efforts with overall business objectives, and ensure seamless integration across functions.• Attending various industry trade shows, fairs and events.What We’re Looking For:We know that one of the things that makes our people so successful and work together so brilliantly is their differences. If it’s most – we still want to hear from you:• Proven success in a sales and/or marketing leadership role within the renewable industry or related field (preferred).• Sound understanding of UK battery market dynamics, industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats.• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate ideas, influence stakeholders, and build rapport with customers and partners.• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans that deliver measurable results.• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.• Experience in sales forecasting, budget management, and resource allocation to optimise ROI and maximise profitability.• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, develop creative solutions, and overcome obstacles to drive sales and marketing effectiveness.• Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets, revenue goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred).• Relevant professional certifications in sales, marketing, or related disciplines (e.g., CIM, ISM, DIM, CIPR, MRS, DMA, CMI) would be considered a plus.Why Work With Us?GivEnergy is on a mission; to make sustainable energy accessible and affordable to all.
