We are seeking a Workshop Foreman, with a steel fabrication background, to work for this successful Engineering company in Widnes.
Workshop Foreman – Responsibilities
* Liaise with Project Engineers and delegate jobs to Shop Floor employees
* Management of Shop Floor Employees and Site Teams
* Trouble Shooting / problem solving of work related issues
* Monitor and track projects ensuring jobs are completed correctly and within the allocated time
* Report to management on a day-to-day basis
* Ensure individuals are kept informed of their responsibilities by regular instruction and effective communication
* Provide support on a technical level to the workshop team
* Regular stock monitoring on consumables such as gas, welding consumables, paint etc.
* Purchase materials and consumables when required
* Record Keeping, Time Sheets, updating records for BS EN 1090.
* Manage and track Health and Safety legislation
* Keyholder
* Work “On The Tools” as required
Workshop Foreman – The Candidate
* Be a time-served fabricator/welder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a fabrication workshop
* Must be able to read, understand and work to fabrication drawings and inspect & check fabrication work
* Must be able to follow and understand ISO 9001 & BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2
* Knowledge of RWC desirable
* Have proven leadership and an ability to drive & motivate staff
* Build strong working relationships within the organisation
* Have a strong ability to organise the workshop and site teams
* Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop
* Be able to manage the consumables
* Must have a full driving licence
Workshop Foreman – Benefits
* A basic starting salary of between £35,500 and £37,500 per annum
* Overtime is available every week so annual earnings will be far higher
* Overtime rates are x1.5 Monday to Saturday and x2 Sunday of hourly rate
