An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pulmonary rehab assistant to join our dedicated team at South Tees Hospitals Foundation Trust. The fixed term post, based at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, offers the chance to be part of a small friendly team delivering vital interventions through a multidisciplinary approach. The Friarage is located in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire with excellent transport links by road and rail, making it accessible from surrounding areas.
The position is primarily based at the Friarage Hospital however it may on occasion involve travelling to other sites to support the delivery of running pulmonary rehab groups.

Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation groups, working under the direction of a physiotherapist. Key responsibilities including setting up the room for sessions, assisting with the running of the groups activities, and ensuring all patient related administrative tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
The role is ideal for someone who is organised and enthusiastic and enjoys working closely with patients and colleagues to support improved heath outcomes.

Qualifications & Training
* 3 A-levels OR Health and Science T-level OR equivalent level 3 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (level 2) OR As a level 3 apprenticeship, such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship (or other level 3 qualification pathway) AND/OR Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties AND/OR Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation
Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills. Ability to adopt appropriate styles and methods of communication
* Time-keeping, planning and prioritisation skills
* Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records and other Trust systems
* Analytical and judgement skills to make decisions based on patient / service user interactions and observations and metrics.
* Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
* Working knowledge of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
Experience
* Experience of working in health or social care
* Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalation of changes or findings.
