Grounds Semi Skilled Operative
Join Slough Borough Council’s Grounds Maintenance Team and help keep Slough blooming. In this hands‑on role you’ll lead a crew of up to three team members, ensuring that every project – whether mowing, planting, pruning or general maintenance – is completed to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily maintenance of parks, gardens, roadside landscapes and open spaces.
* Lead a small team, delegating tasks and ensuring efficient use of equipment.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and environmental sustainability.
* Assist with training and development of team members.
* Use horticultural and machinery certifications (PA1/PA6, chainsaw, tractor driving, trailer towing etc.) where required.
Salary & Working Hours
* Pay Level: 5 – £30,160 to £32,118 (fully inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance)
* Contract Type: Permanent
* Working Hours: 37 hours a week
* Location: Slough Cemetery
* DBS Requirement: Basic
