ANZUK Education are working with one of our partner schools in Dorking, Surrey to find a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is a specialist school for boys aged 9-16 with SEMH needs.
Pay: £102.60 - £119.70 per day, Umbrella (PAYE option available)
Location: Dorking, Surrey
Availability: Monday - Friday, Monday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Friday
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH
* Be calm, patient and have a proactive approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
* Team Teach training (desirable, but not essential)
* Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school or educational setting
* Some knowledge of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students with those needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to take direction from teachers and other senior staff
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing needs and priorities
* Valid UK DBS or be prepared to apply for a new one (we can do this for you)
* Please note, this role is not suitable for applicants from outside of the UK without valid, current UK right to work visa
