Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess strong communication skills. This role involves assisting individuals in their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and helping them achieve their personal goals. A valid driving licence is preferred as travel may be required.

Duties

* Provide support to children in various settings, including home and community environments.
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Foster a safe and nurturing environment by promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Engage children in educational and recreational activities that enhance their development.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with families and other professionals.
* Utilise IT skills to document care plans, track progress, and communicate with team members.

Requirements

* Previous experience working with children is essential.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes.
* Knowledge of childcare practices and care plan development is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

What will I do as a Residential Support Worker?

* Using your experience and skills – further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people.
* All of our homes adopt therapeutic practices, allowing you to develop into a specialist care provider. Training also includes reflective practice to consistently improve the way we care for children.
* You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
* You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people. Consistency and organisation skills are key.
* You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.

Please note that you must be 22 years old or above to apply as per children's homes regulations.
