My client is a chartered consultancy based in West Sussex, providing services for the past 25 years. They bring together a multidisciplinary team of
landscape architects, landscape planners, ecological consultants, and tree surveyors, offering integrated services across landscape and ecological design.
Their core focus lies in delivering landscape design and ecologicalmissions for a range of clients, particularly in education, the public sector, and property development. They are known for crafting solutions that balance aesthetic, functional, and environmental considerations—ensuring that development projects are both visuallypelling and ecologically responsible. They place high value on their environmental ethos, working only with clients that wish to conserve and cooperate.
They are shortly moving into a new office, to better house the current team and to fulfil their expansion plans.
Your new role
They are seeking a skilled and motivated Arboricultural Consultant to join the expanding team. This is a key role supporting the ecology and landscape teams, helping deliver high-quality arboricultural input across a range of projects. The role is expected to be split 50/50 between site and office work. The current team is 30 staff strong, all of which contribute to their collaborative and supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake tree surveys and produce arboricultural impact assessments and method statements.
2. Collaborate with ecologists and landscape architects to deliver integrated solutions.
3. Support project delivery and contribute to improving team productivity.
4. Engage with clients to provide clear, value-driven arboricultural advice.
5. Participate in site work primarily across the Southeast, with occasional national travel (voluntary basis).
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience in arboricultural consultancy, ideally with a broad understanding of planning and development contexts.
7. Professional qualifications in arboriculture - Level 3 or higher.
8. Familiarity with BS5837 surveys and tree protection plans.
9. GIS skills beneficial but not essential.
10. Strongmunication and collaboration skills.
11. Full UK driving license and car
