Job Description
As an Associate Director within Public Services Advisory, you will support the development and implementation of strategy for your sector, demonstrate high‑quality delivery and professionalism, lead and inspire your team, ensure technical excellence and quality, and drive business development and client relationships. You will work closely with partners and directors on complex projects, build a diverse and inclusive PSA team, and promote thought leadership in your sector.
* Support the development and implementation of the sector strategy.
* Demonstrate high quality and professional behaviour, challenging others to do the same.
* Lead and inspire the team, ensuring technical excellence and quality in line with the firm’s guidelines.
* Oversight of your team to deliver high quality work, meeting financial targets.
* Partner and director support on complex proposals, business development, and winning bids.
* Embed a learning culture in proposal development.
* Act with integrity, uphold integrity in risk and quality management.
* Build and maintain a network in your sector across Grant Thornton.
* Promote thought leadership pieces within your sector.
* Achieve high client satisfaction scores.

Qualifications
Minimum criteria include a university qualification or relevant experience. A professional qualification (e.g. ACA, CIPFA, Prince2, CIMA, CFA) is desirable. You should have:
* Significant public‑sector experience or a desire to work with the public sector.
* A portfolio managing major transactions/assignments.
* A track record of business development and winning tenders.
* Line management or oversight responsibilities.
* Ownership of setting and delivering team goals and monitoring utilisation, revenue and gross margin.
* Strong understanding of contractual requirements and commercial issues.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
* Project management skills and record of delivering on time, quality and financial targets.
* Interpersonal skills to build and develop client networks.
Additional desirable skills include understanding of operations, performance and finance, and awareness of current policy and issues. We will help you develop any missing skills.
