Facilities Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the operations of a noteworthy Grade II-listed site that houses public galleries and creative spaces. The organisation is dedicated to opening up access to the arts from the global majority and will soon welcome visitors to its central London site.
The Facilities Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running, safety and long-term preservation of this unique building. Working closely with senior colleagues, contractors and external specialists, the postholder will take the lead on day-to-day facilities operations as well as longer-term building care and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the maintenance and upkeep of the building, associated spaces and grounds
Overseeing planned and reactive works, ensuring high-quality and value-for-money delivery
Leading on health and safety, statutory compliance, risk assessments and record-keeping
Acting as the primary point of contact for contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies
Supporting exhibitions, events and public programmes through effective facilities support
Developing sustainability initiatives to improve environmental performance and efficiency
The successful candidate will bring:
Proven experience in facilities or estates management, ideally in a cultural, heritage, education or public-sector environment
Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and health and safety requirements
Experience of managing contractors, service agreements and budgets
A proactive and practical approach to problem solving and building care
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
