Brief Description
Isolation planning is crucial for safe engineering works. You will learn to produce and publish isolation plans and documentation in compliance with Network Rail standards and Electrified Lines Working Instructions. The role involves supporting the development of short-term and long-term isolation strategies.
Initially, as an apprentice for 3 years, you will complete a Level 3 in Transport Planning and gain exposure to track possession planning and engineering roles. After successful completion, you will become a fully qualified Isolation Planner, with opportunities for career progression in Transport Planning and the rail industry.
Key Accountabilities
1. Create and review isolation plans, proposals, and opportunities.
2. Maintain records related to isolation planning.
3. Identify switching requirements and liaise with providers.
4. Attend planning meetings and produce necessary publications.
5. Coordinate with stakeholders and support process improvements.
6. Maintain competencies and assess arrangements.
7. Review post-isolation issues for continuous learning.

Requirements
* Ability to handle data and diagrams, with a passion for transport planning and creative solutions.
* At least 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C / 9-4 including Maths, English, and Science or equivalent.
* Ability to work under pressure, evaluate complex factors, prioritize tasks, and pay attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and able to work with other software.
