Sonic Healthcare UK encompasses the two main entities in the UK, The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) and Health Services Laboratories (HSL). With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.

About the role:

The role is to provide operational, technical and training support for our hospital clients and to ensure an efficient and safe provision of POCT (Point of Care Testing) services.

The main responsibilities include:

1. Responsible for scheduling and delivery of Link Trainer and user training to client sites. To ensure hospital staff are familiar with the analytical procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting of POCT equipment and adequately trained and competent.

2. Interpretation of EQA (External Quality Assessment) reports from EQA scheme and production of monthly client facing EQA reports.

3. Work with QMG (Quality Management Group) to ensure the POCT service offered is maintained to the highest standards as required by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services).

4. Responsible for the collation of EQA returned data to relevant EQA scheme.

5. To configure analysers for new and replacement devices.

6. Responsible for reporting and sending devices to relevant supplier after initial troubleshooting steps.

7. Troubleshoot issues with POCT service, including updating department as necessary.

8. Taking a lead in new device validations/upgrades/changes within POCT.

9. Taking a lead in updating and producing documentation within POCT.
