The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director, Global Marketing Campaigns to join our Marketing team. This is a marketing leadership role responsible for owning the global marketing campaign strategy across strategic markets and product and platform campaigns. You will lead a team of Campaign Managers and be accountable for ensuring campaigns are strategically aligned, effectively delivered, and continuously improved to support business and marketing goals. This role combines people leadership, campaign strategy, and operational excellence, requiring you to act as a player-coach. You will directly lead a small number of high-priority campaigns each year while driving process improvements, campaign governance, budget oversight, and team development. Key Responsibilities Owning the global marketing campaign strategy across strategic markets and product and platform campaigns. Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 3–5 Campaign Managers, setting clear priorities and standards for delivery. Building a successful, inclusive, and high-performing team environment with a strong focus on development, accountability, and engagement. Leading hiring, onboarding, and retention within the campaigns team, ensuring the right capability is in place for current and future business needs. Personally leading and executing a small number of high-priority, strategically important campaigns each year. Overseeing campaign planning, intake, prioritisation, briefing, governance, reporting, and measurement. Managing the campaign calendar and team resource planning to ensure continuity and effective delivery across multiple priorities. Driving campaign process improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and quality across the team. Acting as a brand champion, ensuring campaign activity aligns with Oxford Nanopore brand guidelines, tone of voice, and quality standards. Encouraging creativity, innovation, and disciplined experimentation across campaign activity, including testing of messaging, channels, and approaches. Working closely with various internal teams—including Strategic Marketing, Content and Communications, Channel Leads, Regional Teams, Digital, Marketing Technology, Events, Paid Social, and Business Systems—to deliver integrated campaigns. Managing agency and vendor relationships relevant to campaign delivery. Holding accountability for the campaigns team budget and ensuring spend is well managed and aligned to agreed objectives Using campaign data, insight, and learnings to optimize performance and strengthen future activity. What You'll Bring We are looking for a highly motivated individual who meets the following criteria: Significant experience leading integrated, multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns. Experience in life sciences or another complex scientific or technical environment is ideal. Strong strategic planning skills and excellent stakeholder management. Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Confidence in balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, improving ways of working, managing budgets and agencies, and using insight and data to improve campaign effectiveness. An excellent communicator, highly organised, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, priorities, and timelines in a fast-paced global environment. A person who values quality, champions the brand, and creates an environment where creativity, innovation, and experimentation can thrive. Previous team leadership experience is advantageous. Strong candidates with clear evidence of leadership potential and readiness to step into a broader people leadership role will also be considered.
