This is an exciting opportunity to join Acute Medicine, which includes a 17-bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and an Acute Medical Assessment (AMA), with opportunities to work in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The role involves assessing and planning care for medical patients, primarily referred by our Emergency Department or community colleagues.
We are seeking dedicated Staff Nurses to support our Acute Medicine team. Whether you are an experienced nurse or early in your career, you will find a welcoming and supportive environment at SATH to help you reach your full potential.
Main duties of the job
* Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate individualised patient care in partnership with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to meet physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
* Provide high-quality patient care independently, seeking guidance for actions outside standard protocols.
* Recognise changes in patients’ conditions requiring intervention and ensure timely referrals or escalation.
* Maintain patient safety at all times, record adverse events, assist with investigations, and share learning with the team.
* Record patient information accurately using electronic and written formats close to the point of care.
* Utilise clinical diagnostic information to inform decision-making.
