Company: Kingdom Local Authority Support (Kingdom). Location: Sutton, SM1 area. Job Role: Environmental Enforcement Officer Hours: On average 32 hours per week, Monday- Sunday shift work. 07:00am-15:00pm or 11:00am-19:00pm Pay Rate: £13.97 per hour. What the role is: The Environmental Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public health, safety, and environmental standards by enforcing environmental laws and regulations. This position involves investigating environmental violations, issuing warnings, fines, or citations, and educating the public about environmental responsibilities. The officer will work closely with local authorities, businesses, and residents to promote compliance and help reduce environmental crimes such as littering, fly-tipping, and pollution. Key Responsibilities: Environmental Law Enforcement: Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns. Patrol assigned areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws. Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints. Issuing Fines and Notices: Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws. Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws. Conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with issued notices and take further action if necessary. Investigation and Reporting: Investigate environmental offenses such as illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and unlawful waste disposal by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case files. Use surveillance equipment, including cameras, to monitor and collect evidence of environmental crimes. Report findings to senior management and collaborate with legal teams to pursue prosecutions when necessary. Court Proceedings and Legal Support: Prepare case files for prosecution, including collecting evidence, photographs, and witness statements. Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders. This allows you to: • Full PAYE status (still allows Tax Credits/SSP etc) • Remain eligible for SSP/SMP • Weekly pay every Friday • Holiday pay • Job flexibility – allowing you to be registered with more than one company • The ability to claim and be paid legitimate HMRC work/travel related expenses each week. https:// • Company Pension - NEST (Automatically enrolled if eligible – one month opt out period) About the role: Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel Providing a visible deterrent within the store Completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities Working as part of a team to fulfil customer requirements Dealing with any difficult situations that arise in a safe and professional manner About you: Excellent communication & customer service skills Professional in approach, with a balanced sense of judgement, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential A full five-year checkable employment history You will receive a contract of employment from your employer separately. You will receive your pay weekly on a Friday from HIVE 360 Payroll Services Provider. You will not be working for Kingdom Service Group directly, although will have the opportunity to request your temporary agreement to be transferred to a Kingdom Contract in the future.
