Job Description
The Transport Co-ordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to colleagues and clients in a fast-paced environment. The role involves working various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, on a 4 on 4 off schedule for the day shift.
How will you contribute?
1. Supervise a team of drivers and transport staff, including engagement, resource planning, recruitment, training, and performance management.
2. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training needs to support professional development.
3. Coordinate scheduling and dispatching of vehicles, drivers, and equipment to ensure timely deliveries across the UK.
4. Manage maintenance and repairs for company vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
5. Maintain accurate records of transport activities for billing, invoicing, and reporting.
6. Resolve transport issues such as delays and vehicle breakdowns promptly.
7. Promote safety culture among transport staff and address safety concerns.
8. Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations, ensuring high service quality.
9. Collaborate with operational stakeholders to meet shared objectives.
10. Generate performance reports on metrics like OTIF, fuel, and maintenance costs.
11. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
12. Check tools and equipment for safety and efficiency.
13. Distribute operational updates to stakeholders.
14. Identify process improvement opportunities.
15. Support driver recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure compliance and competency.
16. Complete tasks as directed by your Line Manager.
What will you bring?
* Proficiency in IT, especially MS Excel & Outlook.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in logistics sector.
* Flexibility and adaptability under pressure.
* Knowledge of transport systems (Flexipod/WinSight, Vision, Telematics) is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
