What You'll Do:
Your Impact: Support social-emotional health of campers at outdoor camps in Hingham, MA. Collaborate with camp staff to ensure successful camp experiences.

The Role:
As the FFC Camp Behavior Specialist, you will leverage your understanding of child development and behavioral modification to prepare staff, campers, and caregivers for a positive camp experience. During training (June 16-20), you will meet with Camp Directors, review camper profiles, and develop a workshop. During camp (June 23-August 15), you will observe campers on-site and work remotely for record reviews, parent communication, and consultations.
Responsibilities include:
* Assess camper health, behavior, and social-emotional needs; set up supportive spaces
* Lead staff training on supporting campers with diverse needs
* Review camper records (IEPs, Behavior Plans)
* Communicate with caregivers to support camper success
* Coordinate accommodations and modifications for campers
* Support Instructors and Junior Instructors with camper needs
* Document administrative duties related to camper support
This seasonal position reports to the Powisset Camp Director, working 7-10 hours weekly.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree or equivalent in social work, education, child development, or related field
* Expertise in trauma-informed practices, neurodiversity, behavior modification, and special education
* Knowledgeable about diverse behavioral, social, and developmental needs
* Ability to read and interpret IEPs and other documents
* Experience working with children with diverse needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Eligibility:
* At least 21 years old
* Availability for training and camp duration
* Willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification if needed
* Able to lift 40 pounds
* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. by start date
* Satisfactory background check
