KS2 Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Durham to recruit an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting in September. The school is ideally seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting learning across KS2.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and development across Key Stage 2, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference in primary education.
Job Responsibilities
* Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 in line with lesson plans
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional help
* Assist with delivering interventions to support literacy, numeracy and wider learning
* Promote positive behaviour and support effective classroom management
* Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
* Help prepare learning resources and maintain an engaging classroom environment
* Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and wider school teams
Key Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within KS2
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
