We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal level Statistical Programmer to join us on a permanent basis in the UK. We offer home and/or office working, training and support, and a competitive package.
The role's purpose is to provide programming support to the statistics and programming department across various projects, clients, and therapeutic areas. The Senior or Principal Programmer may also perform supervisory roles, such as line management and/or project management.
Key Responsibilities
The tasks listed below define the scope of the position. The application of these tasks may vary based on current business needs.
Technical
* Review clinical trial documents including protocols, SAPs, CRFs, CSRs.
* Author, review, and approve study TFL shells and dataset specifications.
* Author, validate, and document SAS programs for datasets, TFLs, and macros, following good programming practices.
* Identify data issues and outliers.
* Complete, review, and approve CDISC Validation tool reports.
* Identify and resolve or escalate data and standards issues as appropriate.
* Maintain awareness of emerging standards and their impact on ongoing and future trials.
* Maintain proficiency in SAS and stay updated on developments.
* Keep study master file documents and other audit-ready documents up to date.
People Management
* Line management of statisticians, programmers, and other technical staff, responsible for their overall performance.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence.
* Manage employee career development and ensure appropriate training.
* Interview, onboard, and integrate new staff members effectively.
* Provide technical leadership and coaching in programming.
Project Management
* Oversee key client projects/portfolios, including acting as Veramed Project Manager.
* Maintain project plans.
* Proactively manage resources, scope changes, and risks.
* Ensure project delivery within budget.
* Manage client expectations and resolve issues.
General
* Lead internal and client study, project, and cross-functional team meetings effectively.
* Present study updates internally and at client meetings.
* Share scientific, technical, and practical knowledge within the team and with colleagues.
* Ensure full compliance with internal and client policies, procedures, and training.
* Build effective collaborative relationships with internal and client team members.
* Share learnings across projects or studies.
* Develop and deliver internal technical training where appropriate.
* Lead process improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
* BSc, MSc, or PhD in a numerical discipline or relevant industry experience.
* At least 6 years of relevant industry experience.
Other Information/Additional Requirements
