Job Description:
Summary: The primary responsibilities include screening, evaluating, and providing services to students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, fluency) affecting educational performance. Responsibilities also include consulting with teachers and parents and participating in IEP team meetings.
Physical Demands: As required by the duties of the job.
Special Requirements: Attendance at school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional hours as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders in students aged birth to twenty-one; develop and implement goals; select and utilize therapeutic materials; communicate effectively with teachers and parents; work cooperatively as part of a team; produce concise reports and maintain records.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Masters or equivalent in speech-language pathology, with relevant coursework and expertise. Experience in evaluation and therapy for communication disorders, working with professionals and parents, and excellent communication skills. Certification requirements vary based on hire date, including Maryland licensure or certification, and CCC or CFY eligibility.
