My client, a reputable main contractor, is seeking a skilled QS to manage the financial and contractual aspects of their projects across residential, healthcare, commercial, and leisure sectors. The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of projects from start to finish. Your key responsibilities will include: Overseeing all cost management and financial reporting for projects Procuring and managing subcontractor agreements, including pre-order meetings with the site team Supporting the site manager by resolving queries and driving subcontractor performance Conducting fortnightly valuations and securing certification efficiently Identifying, tracking, and reporting variations to the PQS Producing detailed monthly cost reports and finalising accounts within a strict timeframe Participating in contract reviews with project and site managers Approving invoices weekly and ensuring timely processing with accounts Providing clients with cost advice, material samples, and quotations for additional work Ensuring RAMS are in place before subcontractors begin on-site Attending site meetings and playing a proactive role in cost control and value engineering The Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction sector Strong commercial awareness and ability to maximise profitability Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors A proactive and detail-focused mindset – always questioning where savings can be made What’s on offer; An attractive base salary of up to £55,000 full benefits package.
