Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining healthy cash flow for the organisation. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent phone etiquette, and proficiency in IT. If you have a background in Credit Control, we would love to hear from you.
Location: Dewsbury (office based)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: £28,000 + Benefits
Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
* Conduct regular credit checks on clients and assess their creditworthiness.
* Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email to follow up on overdue accounts (4000 customer base).
* Post and allocate cash.
* Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in our accounting software.
* Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any discrepancies related to invoices or payments.
* Process sales ledger invoices and upload to the customer's portals.
* Input new customer details, credit checks, and references.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in credit control is preferred.
* Strong phone etiquette with excellent communication skills.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
