With continued expansion and exciting plans for the future, they’re now looking for a motivated Buying Assistant to join their Head Office team in Plymouth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in retail and buying to get hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced commercial environment, supporting experienced Senior Buyers and playing a real part in shaping product ranges seen by customers nationwide.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Buying Assistant, you’ll be right at the heart of the buying function, helping to drive sales and profit through:
Supporting the Senior Buying team to deliver sales, margin and stock targets
Assisting with sourcing, developing and managing product ranges and promotional offers
Liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate product and range data
Monitoring competitor activity and market trends
Researching, analysing and interpreting data to support buying decisions
Ensuring administrative, financial and system processes are completed accurately and on time
Producing regular information and updates for stores
Working closely with retail teams to ensure new ranges launch smoothly in stores
What we’re looking for:
A clear interest in retail and buying, with good commercial awareness
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with suppliers and internal teams
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
Strong numerical, analytical and written skills
Confident using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and graphs

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45am – 5:30pm
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12 week probation)
