Civil Structural Engineer (Reinforced Concrete / Temporary Works)
Location: Bristol - Hybrid Working
Salary/Rate: Up to £40 Per Hour Inside IR35
Start Date: May / June (candidates must be UK-based)
We are looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing team supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C-one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nuclear-grade reinforced concrete structures, gaining exposure to advanced construction methods including 3D BIM rebar modelling (TEKLA), within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
You will play a key role in supporting site-based design and construction activities, including:
Modifying reinforced concrete and steel designs in line with Eurocodes / ETC-C
Coordinating detailing with CAD and BIM teams (2D & 3D modelling)
Managing engineering changes in line with QA procedures
Responding to:
Field Change Requests (FCRs)
Field Information Requests (FIRs)
Non-Conformances (NCRs)
Liaising with:
Site construction teams
Internal multidisciplinary teams
Reviewing and approving contractor deliverables
Conducting site walkdowns and inspections
Requirements:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Up to ~5 years' experience in Civil / Structural / Infrastructure Engineering
Experience with reinforced concrete design
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Experience in:
Temporary Works or Method Engineering
Highly regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, rail, heavy infrastructure)
Design-to-construction transition
Working alongside contractors on site
Exposure to BIM / TEKLA modelling
