Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cleaning Operative to join their team on a 4 on, 4 off schedule from 07:30 to 14:00. Key Responsibilities:
As a Cleaning Operative, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Your daily tasks will include:
Performing general cleaning duties: mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces.
Keeping clinical and non-clinical areas spotless, including wards, toilets, corridors, waiting areas, and treatment rooms.
Carrying out scheduled deep cleans, especially in high-risk areas and isolation rooms.
Using hospital-approved cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.Infection Prevention and Control:
Your attention to detail is crucial in preventing infections. You will:
Follow strict cleaning protocols aligned with infection prevention guidelines.
Apply barrier cleaning techniques and understand zoning (clean vs. dirty areas).
Regularly clean high-touch surfaces, ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
utilise colour-coded cleaning materials to avoid cross-contamination.Health & Safety Compliance:
Safety is our priority! You will:
Adhere to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations in all cleaning tasks.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and dispose of it correctly.
Store chemicals and equipment safely and report any hazards immediately.Teamwork and Communication:
Collaboration is key in our healthcare environment! You will:
Work closely with nursing and ward staff to align cleaning schedules with patient care needs.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors about cleaning tasks and any issues.
Show respect and courtesy when working around patients and their families.What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
Experience in a food service environment or catering industry.
Strong customer service skills and clear verbal communication.
A Level 2 qualification in Cleaning Support Services.
