Teaching Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school in Havering. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Teaching assistants typically support individual pupils or small groups while helping teachers deliver lessons and classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
* Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning in subjects such as literacy and numeracy.
* Assist pupils who require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Help prepare classroom materials, learning resources, and displays.
* Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management.
* Monitor pupils' progress and report feedback to the teacher.
* Assist with supervision during break times, school trips, and other activities.
Requirements
* Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting (preferred).
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A caring, patient, and supportive attitude towards children.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
