Apparel Designer at Footasylum
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Apparel Designer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design team at Footasylum’s Head Office in Rochdale. Our team manages multiple brands across men’s, women’s, kids’, and accessories.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a high-street fashion role, supported by a relevant portfolio.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on Footasylum’s “own brands,” such as Zavetti Canada, Alessandro Zavetti, and more, with strong progression prospects.

Responsibilities
1. Research and contribute to the creation of seasonal collections with the Brand Manager / Buyer, focusing on customer profile, new trends, high street competitors, and regional brand awareness.
2. Collaborate with the Senior Design team to develop design strategies for each brand and season, including trend overviews and collection creation. Demonstrate advanced understanding of technical CAD specifications, adhering to deadlines.
3. Work closely with buyers, brand managers, and product developers to participate in fit sessions.
4. Ensure full compliance with children’s safety standards and provide relevant feedback.
5. Build strong relationships with factories in Turkey, China, and Pakistan, assisting with branded development and production trips (may include weekends).
6. Travel for development trips within the UK and overseas for inspiration (may include evenings and weekends).
7. Maintain planners and purchase orders to ensure timely order processing and up-to-date development and production overviews.
8. Attend weekly trade meetings and provide feedback to the team.
9. Support Junior Designers in delivering clear technical CAD specifications, checking tech packs before submission.
10. Be self-motivated with good time management and adaptability.
