Due to the expansion of the complex nutrition team and the establishment of the first national intestinal failure virtual ward we have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 nurse position for a 7-day service
This position would be suited to someone that would like to transition into a specialist nursing role or have existing experience in specialist practice. The environment is ever evolving, expands across medicine and surgery, within a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. Essential skills require being eager to learn and interest in complex nutrition and intestinal failure.
We would welcome informal visits
* To provide expert enteral and parenteral nutritional advice to all patients within the Dudley Group.
* To ensure patients progress along agreed nutrition pathways, which are supported by the implementation of evidence based practice.
* To provide expert support in the management of patients with malabsorption syndromes.
* Plan, evaluate and implement care, problem solve and ensure that nutritional support is delivered safely, effectively and appropriately.
* Participate in the implementation of national standards and guidelines relating to nutrition support and monitor their effectiveness.
* Assess patients referred for nutritional support and effectively communicate treatment plans.
* Support patients in the complex nutrition virtual ward
