Overview
The Stroke Rehab Ward is a 20 bedded facility designed for stroke rehab patients. The unit is responsible for the assessment of patients presenting with stroke and neurology symptoms who currently need further therapy. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses providing cares to rehab stroke patients. We seek confident and caring candidates who can provide cares with dignity and compassion while supporting the patient through their recovery. The post holder will be supported in their professional development and will have the opportunity to develop within the role. In the near future we will be developing a training programme that might give you the opportunity to become a band 3 rehab Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities
* Support registered nurses by delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to rehabilitation stroke patients.
* Demonstrate calmness and professionalism under pressure while maintaining patient dignity and compassion.
* Be part of the ward-based team and participate in relevant training needs; cover day shifts with some night shifts and weekends on a rota basis.
* Contribute to excellent teamwork and communication; develop excellent interpersonal relationships.
* Engage with professional development opportunities, including the Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants and potential progression to Band 3 through the programme.
Qualifications and Skills
* Confident, caring, and adaptable with strong communication skills.
* Ability to provide care with dignity and compassion; capable of developing effective interpersonal relationships.
* Flexible with the ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
* Willingness to participate in training and progression pathways toward advanced roles.
