HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a highly qualified and strategic Head of Employment to lead our Employment Law practice. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to establish and develop a comprehensive Employment Law team, delivering expert legal support and guidance to clients on a wide range of employment issues.
The key responsibilities include:
* Creating a dedicated Employment Law team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
* Providing expert advice on employment contracts, workplace policies, employee rights, and compliance with employment legislation.
* Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and litigation for employment disputes.
* Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the visibility and reach of the Employment Law practice.
* Conducting training for clients on employment law matters and best practices.
* Staying abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensuring the practice remains compliant.
* Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and potential referral sources.
* Mentoring and developing junior staff while overseeing departmental performance and financial metrics.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in employment law.
* Proven track record in leading and growing legal teams.
* Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
* Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
* Ability to handle sensitive employment issues with discretion and empathy.
* Commitment to professional development and mentoring of junior team members.
