We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Salaried GP for our two partners and three salaried GP practice inBrentford.We arelooking for someone to join our team for 5 sessions, Monday all day,Wednesday all day and Friday morning. We run a total triage appointment system.

Currently, our practice is fully staffed by a friendly and caring team who work together to provide excellent patient care. We have a team of skilled professionals consisting of 2 ANPs, 1 nurse, 2 HCAs, 1 pharmacist, and a pharmacist technician.

Our list size is about 8100 with an interesting mixed demographic. We are active within our PCN and our PCN staff consists of pharmacists, first contact physio, a social prescriber, mental health advisor, a paramedic and a diabetes specialist.

We are rated Good by CQC and we use SystmOne.We value best practice, support one another, and focus on professional development and flexibility for our staff. We have several meetings including clinical and practice meetings. We encourage progress in leadership and special interests.

Informal visits or discussions with GP partners are welcome.


Main duties of the job

The appointed Salaried GP will provide medical services for thepractice population to a high standard, including day-to-day activities such asOnline triage and advice, face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, Home visits, checking and signing off electronic prescriptions, processing test results, scanning andappropriate administration to ensure accurate records, patient continuity andquality care.


About us

We are within a purpose-built health centre with good facilities, including spacious and air-conditioned clinical rooms, a free staff car park and bicycle parking. The surgery is located opposite Brentford train station, near Kew and Brentford High Street. This is a supportive environment in which a salaried GP can develop special interests and engage with a wide range of services. You'll enjoy working with a diverse and extremely skilled team who are open to new ideas on how to take the practice forward. The team includes 2 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, HCAs, practice nurse, ANPs and a prescribing pharmacist. The practice is dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients, whilst fostering a vibrant and energetic working atmosphere.


Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Patients entrust and permit us to collect and retain sensitive information relating to their health and other matters pertaining to their care. They do so in confidence and have a right to expect all staff will respect their privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times. It is essential that, if the legal requirements are to be met and the trust of our patients is to be retained, all staff protect patient information and provide a confidential service.

Quality and Continuous Improvement (CI)

To preserve and improve the quality of our output, all personnel are required to think not only of what they do, but how they achieve it. By continually re-examining our processes, we will be able to develop and improve the overall effectiveness of the way we work. The responsibility for this rests with everyone working within the practice to look for opportunities to improve quality and share good practice.

This practice continually strives to improve work processes which deliver healthcare with improved results across all areas of our service provision. We promote a culture of continuous improvement where everyone counts and staff are permitted to make suggestions and contributions to improve our service delivery and enhance patient care.

Learning and Development

The effective use of training and development is fundamental to ensuring that all staff are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude and competences to perform their role. All staff will be required to partake and complete mandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well as participating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject to approval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance their knowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately enable them to improve processes and service delivery.

All staff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication is also essential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.

Service Delivery

Staff at Brentford Group Practice must adhere to the information contained within practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times. Staff will be given detailed information during the induction process regarding policy and procedure.

Security

The security of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff must ensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity immediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to share the codes for the door locks with anyone and they are to ensure that restricted areas remain effectively secured.

Leave

All personnel are entitled to take leave. Line managers are to ensure all of their staff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 6 weeks leave each year plus 1 week study leave and should be encouraged to take all of their leave entitlement.

Primary Responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles.

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

Attend and contribute effectively to practice and clinical meetings as required

Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

Secondary Responsibilities:

Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

Participate in the review of significant and near‑miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)

There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Salaried GP has the following wider responsibilities:

a. Participate in the spectrum of clinical governance processes

b. Participate in formal training events promoting best practice in area of expertise Provide leadership and education for members of the multi‑disciplinary team, providing guidance and support when necessary.

c. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care


Person Specification


Qualifications

* -GMC registered
* - DBS
* - Performers list
* MRCGP
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
* Experience of working in a GP setting although we are open to newly qualified GP.
* General understanding of the GMS/PMS contract


Experience

* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of continued professional development
* Experience of QOF and clinical audit
* General understanding of the GMS/PMS contract
* Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
* Experience of medicines management
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
