Children’s Registered Home Manager – Newmarket Location: Newmarket Contract: Full Time, Permanent Closing Date: Saturday 30 August 2025 Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 DOE £5,000 annual bonus Hours: 40 per week The Opportunity We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Children’s Registered Home Manager to join a newly established, multi-site Specialist Mental Health children’s residential home with educational provision. As a key leader within this service, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the delivery of care, leading a 5-bedded home for children aged 12–18 who require specialist support due to mental health needs or significant risks of self-injurious behaviours. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including clinical professionals and teachers, you’ll ensure young people are supported to achieve their goals and transition successfully from care. What You’ll Be Doing * Managing a 5-bedded specialist children’s home. * Developing and overseeing comprehensive care plans. * Leading, motivating, and retaining a strong, committed team. * Consulting with young people and promoting their voice in care. * Maintaining high-quality standards in line with Ofsted regulations. * Handling complaints, safeguarding issues, and child protection matters. * Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals. * Ensuring the home is managed effectively, both operationally and financially. What We’re Looking For Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years. Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (essential). Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred, or willing to enrol within 6 months). Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, Ofsted Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills. Full UK driving licence.
