Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Adjunct Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students, fostering a stimulating learning environment, and contributing to the overall academic mission of the institution. This position requires a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to engage students effectively. Adjunct lecturer needed to teach one or two sections of a British History survey course to US study abroad students for the Fall semester 2025
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions in accordance with the curriculum.
* Develop course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments that align with learning objectives.
* Provide timely feedback on student performance and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
* Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
* Utilise IT tools and resources to enhance teaching methods and improve student learning experiences.
* Attend departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development initiatives as required.
* Maintain open lines of communication with students, offering guidance and support throughout their academic journey.
* The course syllabus has been established, although there is room for some change dependent on the successful candidate's research interests. A range of teaching materials are available if required.
Requirements
* A strong background in English or a related field is essential.
* Prospective candidates should have a graduate degree in a relevant subject and may be working towards or have a PhD.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
* Excellent teaching abilities, demonstrating a passion for education and student success.
* Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex concepts.
* Proficiency in IT applications relevant to teaching and learning environments.
