What You'll Do:
1. Comply with all company and statutory regulations relating to Health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This includes awareness of specific hazards in the workplace.
2. Assist in the preparation, production, presentation, and service of all meals, ensuring they are served at the correct times, within the company's standards, and to the agreed specification of the contract.
3. Ensure control of raw materials and portions meet the company's standards and that food is served at the correct temperature.
4. Assist the head chef in planning menus and orders as required.
5. Receive and check goods against invoices for quality.
6. Store goods quickly and correctly on a rotation system following 'first in, first out' principles, complying with health and safety regulations.
7. Assist in meal service as required.
8. Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and service areas at all times.
9. Keep work areas and surfaces clean and tidy, assisting with routine cleaning schedules.
10. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and cleanliness.
11. Communicate effectively, demonstrating a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring, and friendly service to customers and clients.
12. Participate in training and team meetings to meet job responsibilities to company and client standards.
13. Work as part of a team to promote harmonious working relationships.
14. Assist at special functions, which may occur outside regular hours.
15. Report incidents immediately and take appropriate action.
16. Comply with Sodexo policies, procedures, and site rules.
Qualifications and Experience:
* 1-2 years of Chef de Partie experience; Commis Chef seeking new challenges considered.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* Previous catering experience and a passion for food and team engagement.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Good time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Desire for self-development and career growth.
* Smart appearance and high personal hygiene standards.
