0 hour Job Coach (Relief)
Job Role
We are looking for a motivated relief support worker who enjoys delivering practical hands-on training to people with learning disabilities as part of a friendly and supportive team. There are no guaranteed hours, as this role covers for staff sickness or holidays. Usually hours are weekdays from 9am – 4pm, but bookings are dependent on the service requirements. The Learning Disability Training Team trains people with learning disabilities for work. We work in a person-centred way and help our service users to identify their skills, aspirations and support needs.
The Relief Job Coach will work with a group of people to develop skills for work, teamwork and communication skills. They will identify training and development opportunities through practical work activities which are positive, valued and varied for our customers. This is a hands-on busy role. This role is varied and there could be opportunities to work in our recycling, packing, craft, woodwork and gardening areas to deliver training to small groups of people with learning disabilities whilst coordinating a range of activities. Any skills in these areas would be welcomed.
We work with a wide range of people with disabilities. We create a positive and fun working environment whilst maintaining very high levels of health and safety and professional standards. It is important that you can work as part of a team, but also work on your own initiative. A positive attitude to working with people with disabilities is essential. Clear, respectful communication is required. We also promote health awareness, independent living skills and progression opportunities and self-advocacy for all of our customers.
This is a very varied role, working with a great group of people with learning disabilities doing different types of practical tasks and other developmental activities, as part of a friendly team.

Key Responsibilities
* Work with customers to identify their skills, strengths, support needs and employment preferences.
* To organise a small team to do practical activities to a good standard. To maximise the training benefit to people with learning disabilities of all activities.
* To ensure that the working environment is positive and pleasant for customers. Work in a person-centred way. Motivate, communicate and listen to customers. Problem-solve issues and communicate issues to Manager.
* Plan with customers their next development steps, based on an assessment of need and their Pluss Pathway to Work.
* Provide practical support to help them achieve their targets. Job match the customers with tasks that need undertaking
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Experience of working with people with disabilities or disadvantages, in particular those with a learning disability.
* Proven track record re good communication and teamwork skills
* Experience of identifying training needs and delivering training and support.
Desirable
* A qualification in Care, Training or equivalent experience
* A full driving license and a willingness to drive a crew cab van
