Summary of Role
We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Procurement Planner to join our team at our Beverley manufacturing site to support our next phase of growth. In this key role, you will oversee procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring that the company's growth demands are met. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with opportunities for growth.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in manufacturing planning and procurement and be strong in the areas of organising, expediting, negotiating and building relationships.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and manage material requirements to meet production schedules, ensuring resource readiness and inventory optimisation
· Maintain accurate planning data within the MRP system and report on delivery of key KPIs such as OTIF, lead times and inventory turns
· Work with production manager to create accurate production plans in accordance with material, labour and equipment availability
· Manage all material and product sourcing/purchasing in the ERP/MRP system
· Input all B2B sales orders into the ERP/MRP system, planning and releasing orders with sales and finance teams
· Implement contingency plans providing supply chain security and risk management
· Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and terms
· Collaborate with internal teams and use internal data analysis to understand demand and supply chain requirements both long and short term with target Min & Max stock levels.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse team on stock counts / movements
· Expedite deliveries and ensure minimal impact to manufacturing plans and lead times
· Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction
· Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing planning processes to drive efficiencies and reduce lead times
· Obtain output/waste information (number of finished products, percentage of defects etc) to monitor true BOM performance v budget
· Oversee all additional site purchasing including Kanban / facilities
· Support Creative Product Manager on NPD supplier sourcing and back end SKU setup
Qualifications
You'll need to have:
· Proven experience in a Procurement role for over 3 years
· Proven experience in a Manufacturing Planning role
· Proactive approach to task management with a solution led mindset
· Proven negotiation experience
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally
· Excellent computer literacy (Specifically Excel)
· Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise important projects
· Knowledge of MRP systems
· Knowledge of ecommerce (beneficial not essential)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
