Assistant Psychologist - CAMHS Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our CAMHS Learning Disabilities multi‑disciplinary team. The role involves supporting clinical staff and delivering psychological interventions for young people with learning disabilities and their families, helping them achieve positive mental health outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and support individual and group interventions.
* Carry out psychological assessments and wellbeing calls to ensure young people feel safe and supported.
* Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team, providing formulations and staff support.
* Coordinate and analyse outcome measures to track progress.
* Contribute to audits and research that shape evidence‑based practice.
* Work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, with significant development opportunities.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
* Psychology degree accredited by the British Psychological Society.
* Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Experience working with people with a learning disability and mental health difficulties.
* Experience carrying out basic psychometric tests (e.g., cognitive screens).
* Experience as an Assistant Psychologist or in a similar role.
* Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Skills and Aptitude
* Capacity to communicate condition‑related information to clients and relatives in emotionally charged environments.
Eligibility

* Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
* Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board
Successful applicants must be eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society and will be required to work towards registration with the BPS Wider Psychological Workforce Register once in post.
Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 a year per annum, pro rata.
