Job Description:
One of our clients is looking for a Qualified Principal Social Worker who will focus on court work.
As the Principal Social Worker, you will be a case-holding social worker working with approximately 10/11 children (4/5 families) who are subject to care proceedings. You will be responsible for all aspects of case management, including statutory visiting, care planning and review, and court appearances.
You will work with children and their families to assist in decision-making regarding whether children should remain at home or return home to their parents. Assessments will need to consider current risks and protective factors, while also identifying the likelihood of sustained change within the child's timescales.
You should have experience working with children subject to care proceedings and their families, producing work of an excellent standard with recommendations based on sound evidence-based analysis.

Responsibilities of you as a Social Worker:
* Ensure the best outcomes for children and young people
* Undertake assessments using the DOH Framework and understand the principles of the NSPCC Reunification framework
* Conduct and promote effective assessment, care planning, intervention, and review for children in need of care and support, including those requiring legal proceedings to safeguard them
* Manage complex or high-risk cases and arrange high-value packages of care
* Support children and young people through robust assessment, outcome-focused planning, and effective intervention to achieve positive outcomes within their families and communities
Requirements:
* Social Care Wales registration
* A recognized qualification in Social Work
* A full UK driving license
* DBS clearance
* Authority to work in the UK
Salary scale: £42,000–£45,000 depending on experience.
