Job summary
Band 6 skilled Dietitian
9 months fixed contract (ends March 26)
2 Days a week (0.4 WTE)
We are looking for a Dietitian with band 6 clinical experience to work 2 days a week within our busy department. This post is likely to support the band 7 oncology dietitian, reviewing cancer patients (F2F and telephone). Flexibility and working from home will be considered, days to be confirmed.
You need to be highly organised, efficient, and demonstrate leadership in your practice. Excellent communication skills, empathy, and professionalism are essential when working with this patient group.
Internal CPD opportunities are available, and there may be opportunities to support student training (Plymouth University and Birmingham University dietetic students).

Main duties of the job
* Provide a dietetic service to oncology patients
* Facilitate nutritional care by offering expert advice on oncology-related nutrition
* Support education and training on nutrition topics related to the cancer pathway
* Assist with audit and research in the specialist area
* Contribute to the implementation of the Trust's Nutrition strategies

Job responsibilities
* Provide effective, evidence-based dietetic services to oncology patients
* Offer expert advice to patients, carers, and clinicians on nutritional treatment and management
* Ensure dietary interventions optimize nutritional status, considering cancer treatments
* Liaise with healthcare team members in hospital and community settings
* Manage a defined clinical caseload, including complex cases
* Undertake core dietetic responsibilities as outlined by HCPC
Person Specification
Essential:
* HCPC registration
* Completed B5 in clinical NHS setting
* Experience working with complex conditions, specifically cancer
* Experience in nutrition support
Desirable:
* Specific interest in this role
* Well-written application
