The Document Production Technician will play a vital role in delivering professional, high-quality documentation and technical support to fee earners and business services teams. Working Arrangement
This role is based in Newcastle and offers hybrid working with a 2:2:1 pattern, combining office-based and remote working.
The Role
As a Document Production Technician, you will produce, amend, format, and troubleshoot complex business-critical documents while ensuring all work meets house style standards and client expectations. The Document Production Technician will work closely with colleagues across Newcastle and London, supporting document production requirements and contributing to the smooth operation of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and amend lengthy and complex documents with speed and accuracy.
* Proofread documentation for spelling, grammar, formatting, presentation, and consistency.
* Create and update documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
* Assist with redesigning layouts and presentations while providing creative document solutions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve formatting issues and corrupt document problems.
* Maintain document production workflows, trackers, and work logs.
* Ensure all completed work is correctly saved, logged, and returned to requestors.
* Support scanning, PDF editing, photocopying, and other document-related tasks.
* Liaise with fee earners and colleagues to clarify instructions and manage priorities.
* Contribute to effective handovers and provide support across the wider team as required.
* Share best practices and technical knowledge to improve team efficiency and service delivery.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Document Production Technician within a professional services environment.
* Strong experience working with templates, house styles, lengthy documents, and document troubleshooting.
* Typing speed of at least 65 words per minute with strong audio and copy typing skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
* Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro, PDF Docs, and DocXTools.
* Experience working with scanned documents and document conversion processes.
* MOS Word Expert qualification is highly desirable, with additional Microsoft Office Specialist qualifications beneficial.
